It's Been a Long Road, Getting From There to Here . . . |
] |
Now, I have never been a big fan of the latest Star Trek series, Enterprise. Archer has always been just one step away from Kirk-Crazy. They tried so hard to make him noble and awesome and respected, but it just seems so forced. Like just some stupid comments by the crew about how they "wouldn't want to get on his bad side." WHY NOT? He is so dull and non threatening. :/ He would just look at you pathetically making some really bad improvised speech and Trip would find some way to save the day. >.<;;
Nevertheless, reading the criticism of that show is making me feel so bad for it! D: I was trying to look up some facts to figure out the timeline (I am reading a novel right now that jumps from Enterprise-time to post-Nemesis every few chapters) and as I am reading it (just trying to get the bare bones of what happened) the wiki-author keeps dropping these little comments about how this story arc "was not well recieved" or this "was largely considered a bad move by fans and critics alike."
( For example )
T_T Poor Enterprise.
And they really go on a rant about the last episode of Enterprise. Which admittedly sucked for a couple of reasons. But still. In my opinion, Enterprise was actually really good sci-fi. Just not good Trek. Compare it to whatever crap is on "ScyFy" right now and I would pick Enterprise every time. But compare it to TNG or VOY, and that's where it looks like a joke.
EDIT: OMG I just remembered the NAZI plotline!!! BWAHAHAHAHA. Oh, Enterprise. WTF.

Katie's one of my best friends, and an incredibly talented musician, artist, and seamstress. She's also a cat lover! Charlie, pictured above, was a stray cat that was attacked and injured, resulting in the expensive amputation of his front leg. He now lives a happy life, but requires more medical attention. Charlie and Katie have fought so admirably hard for his well-deserved life, and she's not about to quit on him any time soon.
As a result, I'm promoting her work for sale. She has several musical albums out, all of a hauntingly beautiful acoustic aesthetic. She's also quite artistic, and has two shops that feature her design, jewelry, accessories, and general crafts. I hope you'll be as inspired by her work as I am!

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this community. I rewatched Nodame Cantabile (first season) and was so attached to Elgar's Violin Sonata which was played by Nodame and Chiaki when they went to visit his uncle in Episode 15.
Does anyone have this piece?
Would appreciate your help. Thank you in advance.

hi everyone, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to update again. I've been busy as hell with work/school/modeling gigs lately and have been worn pretty thin because of it...as a result, I'm sick as hell right now:[ I dunno if it's the flu or what, but I've been popping vitamin C vitamins like crazy x.x my stomach muscles hurt from coughing so much, oww....if anyone has anything that might help or just cheer me up, I could seriously use it.
I will probably make a more cohesive entry soon with what I've been up to, maybe photos from some shoots if anybody would be interested...plus, I kinda wanted to use my new Amber icon :B Thats all for now~

Uuuuuuhhhhhhhstill waiting for those days off. Wednesday and Thursday, where the hell you at, boys?
mostly looking forward to Friday. it'll feel nice to pay for my own gas and my own food and my own coffee by myself again. haaaa, first paycheck in a month. working this much WILL be worth it. I keep repeating that to myself. worth it worth it worth it.
I said the 'c' word, didn't I? coffee sounds pretty satisfying right now. hm. should I chance the two bucks?
(in an hour, I won't even consider answering that question. I'll just be looking at it like, "bitch, really?")
there is a Dunkin Donuts opening up in Torrance, apparently. they're hiring staff right now. holy fucking shit, I will totally drive half an hour south just for a Dunkin iced coffee. I'll make it my day-off tradition.
played the Left 4 Dead 2 demo last night and loved it. so far Borderlands is neat, too. video games are becoming my poor-man's escape for when the internet gets boring. usually I'd go out and explore buuuut due to lack of money or/possibly and any energy whatsoever, seems that sitting in front of the telly is a great and entertaining second option.
dicks. and more Borderlands.

Hey Matt,
When you were first diagnosed with leukemia, I don't think any of us really let it set in. We knew it was serious, and I'm sure we were all concerned, but we were also pretty sure that you'd recover and everything would go back to normal. We all fully expected you to go on to be ridiculously famous, but keep your cool head and give us tons of money in the process. I don't think we ever really let it set it and make us sad, even to the end, which I think is what you wanted.
I'm sorry I'm sad, now.

Jessie and I went to the Soup Nazi's soup chain today. Had ourselves a fantastic seafood bisque. This came after about a week of watching Seinfeld episodes on random, I think we went through a good 50+.
I've decided something. On one of my next trips to New York, I'm going to hit up a ton of the Seinfeld locations that were based off of real places. Then I'll take the real Kramer tour if that still exists. Make it a whole Seinfeld themed trip. I dunno about you guys, but Seinfeld was a huge part of my youth, gotta give it some photographic props.
Jessie was telling me a lot of her pals can't watch the show because they think the characters were assholes. Yeah, they were, but they were funny assholes. That's really the key difference in asshole behaviour. Funny assholes versus just plain mean assholes. Gotta be careful of that line! The strange thing is that everyone up north that I personally know of loved the show. Whether they fit in the asshole category or serious religious types. Canada just loves the Seinfeld.
Maybe I'll make some custom Seinfeld muggs. Throw in a Larry David for good measure.
Better wrap this up before my battery runs out. Megabus is screwing me again with no power outlets.

oh god so sad I have Shakira in my head |

For as much as I complained about the hours and effort last night, the fifteen hours I spent in the theater today felt like some of the most productive I've had all year, even though as far as a running crew goes, we have very few responsibilities which is admittedly frustrating to me because I like feeling useful.
The guy who usually runs the follow spotlight was off tonight doing another show so I volunteered to learn right quick and had a pretty awesome time up in the grid by myself. It was exhilarating to try something in the theater I'd never done before, especially when it involves being suspended precariously like a fifty feet above the theater. I have no idea if fifty feet is a reasonable approximation but it's really high up. I only got to do it for one scene and only for tonight, but it was still really cool to learn.
The other three people on my deck crew consist of one girl who clearly has no interest in being there (I am so glad she's assigned to stage left and I'm on stage right because I might have to punch her in the mouth if I had to deal with her apathy too often), an unexcited boy I've heard maybe five words for, and a rather annoying kid who has Christina Aguilera as his desktop background and insists on singing along poorly to the Shakira song that opens the show every time. I suppose I'd prefer to have him on SR with me over the other two because he's at least involved enough in theater to have interest in what he's doing (he's an actor) but he's also kind of dumb. I am a little mean idk.
But I really, really like both our assistant stage managers and I think they like me too. The cast is actually also pretty wonderful, and I hope to continue to be friends with them and bridge the sometimes-challenging tech-actor gap.
Basically I realized today, after having not worked in a theater since high school, that I do really fucking love it and I made the right decision with my major. It feels so good to finally have a direction, at least for the next couple of years.
So yeah.
I came home to Ame having cleaned the apartment, cleaned the rat cage, done the dishes, done the laundry, taken the garbage out AND packed me a goddamn bento lunch for tomorrow, when I have another 15 hour day. She is absolutely incredible and I don't know what I did to deserve a girl this amazing. She is just kslgjlkgjdgjr the absolute best and I am so unspeakably lucky. ♥
Also Allie and her lady Laura came over for a bit since they were in NoHo for the weekend! I had hoped to see more of them but lol, my weekend schedule. Max came over too and then Allie took pictures of me and Ame farting around for a photo project of hers. And then we took ridiculous pictures with giant googly eyes and it was wonderful.
And now Max is asleep on our pull-out again and Ame's conked out next to me aaand I am going to sleep now too because I have to get up early again tomorrow morning, hooray! ok ilu guys goodnight ♥
PS sorry for typos and poor grammar I am so exhausted and not proofreading the end.
edit as a conclusion to my evening I just learned that a girl from my high school who Allie and I somewhat recently found to also be a lebbie just followed me on twitter. Hahahaha what do I even do, I only tweet about nerdy shit that normal people don't get! fffff.

Boston Cosplay Ice Skating
I went ahead and started a thread about it on cosplay.com, and I'm going to make a facebook group too :D SINCE FACEBOOK IS AWESOME AND TRENDY.
Cosplay.com thread: http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=194583
Facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=171963453230 (lol, I have it listed as a 'holiday party'. WHY IS THERE NO 'COSPLAY GATHERING' OPTION, FACEBOOK?)
When: Dec 5th, 1:00 PM (date is tentative for now, but I'm guessing it'll work out. All the other Saturdays in December are within exam period or Christmas time and most people want to avoid that) Where: The Frog Pond on the Boston Common What you should bring: Your wonderful self, and a (WARM!) cosplay! Christmas-themed is a bonus but not necessary! Also, bring $4 to get into the ice rink, your ice skates (or $8 to rent a pair), and money for snacks at the concession stand.
GUYS IT'S GONNA BE SO FUN, COME SKATINGGG DO IT DO IT
